Chris Jericho is hailed as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time and there are many good reasons for that. Jericho is also outspoken and a lot of times, people don’t necessarily agree with what he has to say. That said, no one can argue that he is not loyal to AEW. Jericho and CM Punk are set to have a meeting to resolve their differences but it appears that some backstage in AEW are pessimistic about the meeting.

As fans know by now, CM Punk became public enemy #1 after the AEW All Out media scrum and subsequent brawl with the Elite. Many believe CM Punk is a cancer and that includes Chris Jericho

It was reported that AEW is trying to plan out CM Punk’s return and that there was a meeting planned between CM Punk and Chris Jericho, to see whether the idea of Punk and Jericho working together is a possibility.

According to Wade Keller of PWTorch, there are some backstage in AEW, who are not optimistic about the meeting as they believe the meeting will not lead to any progress whatsoever.

“Among the people I’ve talked to, there’s not a high level of confidence that the meeting is going to go well, that it could make things worse, but maybe not. Maybe things will work out.

But people who have been around Punk, know Punk, know people who have known Punk for a very long time, are not optimistic that FTR mediating a meeting between Jericho and Punk is going to lead to progress.”

CM Punk will return on AEW’s new two-hour show called ‘Collision’ this year, which might keep Punk and Jericho separate if the meeting doesn’t lead to any results. Only time will tell whether Punk’s return will bring a positive change to AEW again.
