AEW has a lot of plans in motion, and an upcoming Saturday show is getting a lot of attention. That new show could also see the return of CM Punk, a possible bombshell moment in AEW’s future that cannot be ignored. Now, it seems that we know who will be kept off that Saturday show.

The idea of CM Punk’s return to AEW brought up a very interesting idea for Tony Khan’s company. While AEW has never set a roster split yet, that might happen, especially for talent who don’t want to be on the same show as CM Punk.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter dropped a small note about AEW’s plan for their soft roster split. It was made clear that The Elite and Blackpool Combat Club will still be on top of AEW’s flagship Wednesday show.

“The Elite and BCC will remain the top attractions on the Wednesday Dynamite show”

AEW has a lot of plans in the pipeline, and a roster split could be coming very soon. This is very interesting, especially considering the fact that this roster split seems to be happening because of CM Punk.

The decision to bring CM Punk back to AEW could be far-reaching. Only time will tell if more drama ensues, but it seems that AEW already has a plan for who they want to keep exclusive to Dynamite.

What’s your take on bringing back CM Punk? Is it best for business in AEW? Sound off in the comments!
