AEW has a lot of plans in motion, and a new television show could be coming for fans. This Saturday show will presumably get a time slot in prime-time, and it could also introduce a brand-new idea for AEW.

We previously reported that AEW is working to put all the pieces together for CM Punk’s return. This is obviously a situation that needs to be handled carefully, because there are some people on the roster who are outright against the idea.

Sean Sapp further reported behind Fightful’s paywall that the idea of a roster split might actually come out of this situation. This might revolve around the company’s upcoming Saturday show.

It was also noted that Warner Bros Discovery has a big say in this. The parent network really wants CM Punk’s marquee name back to prime the pump for their big Saturday show announcement. That being said, if anyone has a problem with CM Punk’s return, it seems that they might get locked to the Saturday show’s roster to keep them out of the same locker room.

There’s been a lot more traction within Warner Bros Discovery about an impending announcement of a prime-time Saturday show being designed for a bit of a soft roster split to accommodate the preferences of talent who wanted to stay separate of the particular situations, though talent haven’t been informed of that. Talent we’ve spoken to have heard the discussions about a new show, but haven’t heard about Punk’s possible impending return.

CM Punk ruffled a lot of feathers at All Out when he went into a storm of profanities directed at Colt Cabana and the Young Bucks. Adam Page also took some shots, and he was also the subject of CM Punk’s impromptu burial on the microphone during Dynamite.

We’ll have to see where this situation takes us. It seems that things will end with CM Punk’s return to AEW. It might also involve a “soft roster split,” so keep it tuned right here with Ringside News for more on this story as it continually develops.
