WWE is gearing up for SmackDown as the company adjusts to the fallout after WrestleMania 39. Now, it appears that they will have to do that without a crucial member of the blue brand’s roster. While the reason for this situation is unclear at this moment, Drew McIntyre won’t be on the show as planned.

PW Insider reports behind their paywall that Drew McIntyre was pulled from this week’s episode of SmackDown in Portland. This comes after he was originally slated to be a part of the event.

According to the report, Drew McIntyre was scheduled to make an appearance during tonight’s WWE SmackDown, but it seems he has been removed from the lineup. In addition to that, McIntyre was also scheduled for a local autograph signing event at a Cricket Wireless store in the area, but he was pulled from that event as well.

GUNTHER took Drew McIntyre’s place as a substitute for the Cricket Wireless store signing. That is interesting, because GUNTHER retained his IC Title over McIntyre and Sheamus at WrestleMania Sunday.

Drew McIntyre is in an interesting situation with WWE right now, as his contract continues ticking down. Recent reports about his status say that discussions haven’t even started yet, but they also have until the end of the year.

Hopefully, Drew McIntyre is okay and whatever caused him to get pulled from SmackDown this week isn’t too serious. For more information on this story, and everything else going on in the pro wrestling world, please keep checking with us at Ringside News.
