WWE is well aware of the talent pool outside the company, and they know what big free agents are available. With Vince McMahon’s return to the situation and a company merger coming up, they have ceased some big hiring moves, and that includes Jay White.

If you were hoping to see Jay White join WWE, we have some disappointing news. All signs are pointing to him not signing with the promotion, crushing the dreams of many wrestling enthusiasts.

White’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling recently ended, and people believed that he would leave the company to explore new opportunities. Both WWE and AEW were interested in signing him, but unfortunately, it seems like he won’t be joining the WWE anytime soon.

PW Insider Elite reports there “was absolutely no discussion of former New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Jay White within WWE at all over WrestleMania 39 weekend.” Also, this was “based on multiple conversations with WWE officials and talents, we are told it does not appear White is WWE-bound.”

In February, the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion lost a “Loser leaves Japan” match to Hikuleo at NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka. That was followed by a loss to AEW’s Eddie Kingston at the Battle in the Valley pay-per-view in San Jose, California.

WrestleMania weekend has come and gone, and despite rumors that Jay White might make his WWE debut on the RAW after WrestleMania, that obviously didn’t happen. Some WWE fans might be bummed out by this, but all hope is not lost just yet. It seems that he’s not in the conversation right now, because they have a lot of other things to worry about.

What’s your take on WWE passing on signing Jay White? Is he better off in AEW? Sound off in the comments!
