WWE May Not Grant Rip Fowler & Jagger Reid Their NXT Releases Now

Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid requested their releases from WWE NXT. This came after their involvement with the Schism faction in NXT grew considerably over the last couple of months, which seemingly gave a bigger platform for Fowler and Reid’s The Dyad tag team. There are still some serious questions about the former Grizzled Young Veterans’ WWE status.

The Schism members were reportedly granted their WWE NXT releases, but that might have changed at this point. After all, a lot of things are changing around WWE right now.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about this subject for a bit. He explained that Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid’s NXT releases might be up in the air now.

“They were telling people that they got the release. I actually heard from someone this morning in WWE and it was, ‘Yeah, they’re gone’, and then later in the day, it was like, ‘I don’t think they got the release’.

“They told people they did, but I got the impression that it’s not necessarily the case, as far as getting the release. So we will have to wait and see for the next couple of days how this all plays out.

“But I don’t think ‘officially officially’. They may have, but it was kind of indicated to me that maybe it wasn’t as official as they thought and everyone down there thought.”

This is a very interesting situation, because it could also show that a lot of wires are being crossed right now in WWE as they figure out another new way to do things. Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid are apparently still on NXT, so we will have to see if they appear on the show this week.

It is interesting that Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid want out of NXT. They are involved in a pretty popular NXT faction, and having The Rock’s daughter in that group doesn’t hurt their chances of visibility. Only time will tell if they are granted their releases, but that would just leave Joe Gacy and Ava in the Schism stable.
