WWE NXT stars Rip Fowler (formerly known as Zack Gibson) and Jagger Reid (James Drake), who were part of Joe Gacy’s Schism faction, have reportedly been granted their release request from WWE, according to Dave Meltzer.

It was previously reported earlier today that the two wrestlers had requested their release from WWE. However, there has been no official response from the company. The reason behind their departure remains unknown, but an announcement from Fowler and Reid could happen soon.

The Grizzled Young Veterans were formerly known by their in-ring names on the indies and in NXT UK/NXT, where they won the NXT UK Tag Team Championships once. The duo received new names when they were revealed as associates of Joe Gacy on NXT last July.

The last time Schism appeared on NXT was at the pre-show of NXT Stand & Deliver, where they lost an eight-person tag match to Chase U (Andre Chase, Duke Hudson, and Thea Hail) & Tyler Bate. The match had a stipulation where Schism would have gained control over Chase U if they had won, but Hudson pinned Reid to win the match.
