WWE lost a huge asset to their roster when Big E was taken out of action with broken neck. That injury did not require surgery, but he still needed to take a lot of time off. After over a year of recovery, Big E’s return could be on the horizon.

Kofi Kingston is out of action with an ankle injury. That leaves Xavier Woods as the only active member of the New Day on the WWE roster. It seems that the company was planning something for Big E, but Kofi Kingston’s injury might have thrown a wrench in that.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE discussed Big E’s return in some capacity during WrestleMania. That being said, this was before Kofi Kingston’s injury, so that might have nixed things for Big E.

Before the injury to Kofi Kingston, which did result in ankle surgery on 3/17, we had at least heard talk of the Big E return if only in skit form with the New Day together.

The New Day could still do some sort of skit backstage where they don’t get physical. It would be quite a picture to see Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E together again, especially in their current states. They gave a ton to the pro wrestling business, and they have the injuries to prove it.

Hopefully, WWE will be able to do something with the New Day, because the company’s biggest show of the year deserves all the special moments they can cram into the show. Only time will tell if Big E’s return to the ring will come soon after that.

Big E has been helping WWE with their NIL program and WWE tryouts. He’s also traveling a lot more. We haven’t heard of him taking bumps in the ring, but he did say months ago that his doctors will make the final determination on his future in the squared circle.

What’s your take on New Day showing up at WrestleMania? Do you think it will still happen? Sound off in the comments!
