Steve Austin made his return to the ring at WrestleMania 38 for a big match against Kevin Owens. Fans will remember that Mani encounter for a lot of things, but Steve Austin has a much different memory from inside the squared circle.

Kevin Owens and Steve Austin had quite a no DQ match at the showcase of the immortals. Fans popped in a big way as the two brawled in that marquee match.

While speaking Out of Character, Steve Austin revealed that he was surprised that all those stiff shots he gave Kevin Owens during their WrestleMania match wasn’t returned in the form of a stiff receipt.

“Oh, I turned them down several times until they kept coming back with different creative. KO was always in the conversation and I was down with that because I love that guy. He’s awesome. On the inside, I was knocking his head off so many times. Because I had thrown a punch in 19 years and I told him when we got to the finish, I said, ‘Dude, I can’t believe you didn’t give me a receipt out there.’ That’s the good-natured heart of KO.”

Steve Austin did not agree to make a return for WrestleMania this year. He rejected a match offer to take on Brock Lesnar, which had to have been hard to decline, but the Texas Rattlensnake passed on the offer. Hopefully, fans will see Austin in some respect this year.
