WWE has been able to give plenty of people their dream of competing in the square circle. Pat McAfee’s emergence in WWE from a fan to a voice on the commentary table was a lot of fun to watch. Sadly, those days are over now.

Pat McAfee made it clear that he is waiting to see who might buy WWE in the middle of 2023. That being said, he held off on making a return for that reason. He is also incredibly busy and couldn’t make it happen easily.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE currently has zero plan to bring back Pat McAfee, this came after he sat on the commentary table for the Royal Rumble event.

Wade Barrett is the official permanent Smackdown announcer. As of right now, there are no plans for Pat McAfee to return

Hopefully, Pat McAfee will still come back to WWE for one reason or another. He is a fantastic talent on the commentary table, but the company’s impending sale makes him hesitant about coming back.

That being said, Pat McAfee is still good friends with Michael Cole, and a few other people within the company. Since he has a good relationship and nothing is ending on bad terms, he might just come back to wrestle again, as he recently teased.

Do you miss seeing Pat McAfee in AEW? Should he come back for SmackDown anyway? Sound off in the comments!
