Batista was among an elite crop of WWE superstars that dominated the industry during the Ruthless Aggression Era. The Animal captured multiple world titles during his time in Vince McMahon’s company. WWE wanted to honor him with a Hall of Fame induction in 2020, but the pandemic derailed those plans. It seems that Batista won’t be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.

Batista retired from pro wrestling following his No Holds Barred match against Triple H at WrestleMania 35 on April 7, 2019. As mentioned above, The Animal was supposed to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020, but he pulled out of the ceremony thanks to pandemic issues.

According to PW Insider, Batista may not be inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2023 due to his Hollywood commitments. The report notes that Batista will still be filming his latest project “My Spy” in South Africa during the WrestleMania week. For those wondering, this year’s Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on March 31, 2023.

There had been talks within WWE about Batista headlining this year’s Hall of Fame. The Animal even hoped he would get inducted into the prestigious institution. That said, his busy filming schedule, as well has numerous side projects, are continuing to prevent him from receiving the grand honor.

WWE plans to have a much smaller class of Hall of Fame inductees this year. It was also reported that the company plans on inducting Stacy Kiebler as part of the Class of 2023. The company will tape the event after SmackDown.

WWE has, so far, announced Rey Mysterio and The Great Muta as the first two inductees into the Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Mysterio was revealed as the first inductee during WWE SmackDown last week. The Great Muta, on the other hand, was revealed as the second inductee by none other than Ric Flair.
