Drew McIntyre Pays Tribute To Rey Mysterio During WWE House Show

Drew McIntyre is currently one of the top Superstars in WWE and has garnered a huge fan following thanks to his passion for the business. McIntyre is beloved by many and is never afraid of having a good time in WWE. He also respects legends and so, it comes as no surprise that he paid tribute to Rey Mysterio during a WWE house show.

During Saturday’s WWE Road to WrestleMania live event in Youngstown, Ohio, Drew McIntyre honored Rey Mysterio, who was announced as the headliner of the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame Class on Friday’s SmackDown.

McIntyre, Mysterio, and Sheamus teamed up to defeat Solo Sikoa and the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, The Usos of The Bloodline, with help from Sami Zayn.

Following their victory, Drew McIntyre grabbed the microphone and showered Rey Mysterio with accolades, insisting that the term “Legend” doesn’t do him justice. McIntyre went on to express that Mysterio seems to be getting younger every year, and stated that he was speaking not only as a friend, but as a brother who feels fortunate to still have him in his life.

McIntyre concluded his tribute by emphasizing that there is nobody more deserving of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame than Mysterio, and suggested that he deserves to have his own wing within the esteemed institution. McIntyre then took to Twitter and re-tweeted the clip.

It has been reported that Konnan, a Mexican wrestling icon, will likely be the one to induct Rey Mysterio into the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 39 Weekend. Furthermore, it is anticipated that Mysterio will also compete against his son, Dominik Mysterio, on the same grand stage during the same weekend.
