WrestleMania season is upon us, and that usually comes with a lot of WWE Hall of Fame talk. For some reason, things are a bit different this time around, because we’re less than 30 days away from the show of shows, and WWE hasn’t announced one name for their class of 2023 yet.

It was thought that Batista might receive an induction this year for the WWE Hall of Fame. After all, his spot in the ceremony was bumped due to the pandemic. It seems that the company is keeping those names very close to the vest this year.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that, while there is a WWE Hall of Fame ceremony planned, the company has not spoken internally about who will receive inductions this time around.

Those at WWE said that even though there has been no talk about it nor any names mentioned, that the Hall of Fame ceremony is still scheduled on 3/31 at the Crypto.com Center right after the conclusion of the live Smackdown. It’s part of the Smackdown ticket rather than an additional event

Vince McMahon always picked the company’s yearly Hall of Fame inductees, and he had his own process for those decisions. It’s really unknown what gauge he used to determine whose name would be enshrined in the company’s Hall of Fame, but it was always his call. This year, it will presumably be Triple H’s first year to make those choices, but he apparently hasn’t done much of that yet.

Established in 1993, the ceremony recognizes the achievements of wrestlers, managers, announcers, and other behind-the-scenes personnel who have made significant contributions to the industry. Inductees are chosen by a selection committee, and the event is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious honors in professional wrestling. They did take several years off, but have been producing the yearly event since 2004 after taking a break in 1996.
