Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns kicked off WWE SmackDown tonight. The American Nightmare interrupted The Tribal Chief’s promo. Cody Rhodes convinced Roman Reigns he didn’t need The Bloodline by his side for the segment.

Roman Reigns told The Bloodline to leave the ring. He then dropped the titles on the mat and asked Cody what he wanted to talk about. The American Nightmare began his promo by referencing the hurdles he faced in his career.

Cody talked about his Stardust gimmick. He noted that nobody believed in him when he told them he and his wrestling buddies could sell out a pay-per-view event independent of WWE’s control.

“There’s no way 10,000 people would pay to see my buddy’s little indie show.”

Things got extremely personal when Roman Reigns said he’ll teach Cody Rhodes the things his father Dusty Rhodes didn’t teach him. The segment ended with the two shaking hands.
