Matt Riddle quickly established himself as fan favorite after joining WWE in 2018. However, things have not been going well for him as of late. He was removed from television after failing second drug test, and has also been involved in a number of controversies on social media related to infidelity, among other things. That being said, it seems WWE may not want to invest in Riddle anymore.

Ringside News exclusively reported that, the WWE creative team that Matt Riddle’s name “will not be discussed by creative, until talent relations informs” them that the Original Bro is “once again a character [they] can pitch for.”

Matt Riddle’s most recent appearance on WWE television was on the December 5th episode of RAW, where he teamed up with Kevin Owens in a losing effort against The Usos. Shortly after the match, he was attacked and injured by Solo Sikoa, resulting in Riddle being stretchered out of the arena.

Since then, Riddle has been absent from WWE programming, with fans left wondering whether he will make a return anytime soon. This absence was due to Riddle’s violation of WWE’s Wellness Policy, which led to him being written off TV. Given the circumstances, it remains to be seen when or if he will make a comeback to WWE television.

Riddle also recently dropped video after being done with rehab. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Matt Riddle’s status. Meltzer noted that WWE may no longer want to invest in Riddle.

“He’s been out of rehab for a long time, his suspension has been over for almost a month now – four weeks. It may be that they’ve just decided not to use him for Mania and not do anything with him, or maybe they just don’t want to invest in him.

I presume he’ll be back, but when he left they made a point of (saying) he was gonna be gone for six weeks, and we’re at about 11 or 12 weeks.”

A couple of weeks ago, The Original Bro took to Twitter to hint at returning soon from his hiatus. However, it’s unknown when Matt Riddle can actually make his way back to WWE, if at all. We’ll keep you updated on his status.
