Jerry Lawler suffered stroke and the pro wrestling world was immediately concerned. Lawler was then rushed to hospital where he underwent surgery, and now he is recovering. We have some news about this situation to confirm what happened, but it doesn’t make the situation any less tragic.

Dutch Mantell spoke with Jerry Lawler’s son Kevin, who has spoken to The King’s doctors. It was confirmed that Jerry Lawler suffered a stroke, and he lost feeling on his right side. The feeling has since returned and he is improving.

Jerry Lawler suffered some paralysis on his left side when the stroke happened, but he has regained use of that side. After losing feeling in his right side as the stroke hit, at around late afternoon, Lawler regained the use of his arm. Sadly, Lawler’s speech was still affected as of the evening, but that takes a bit more time to improve.

Dutch Mantell tweeted out to provide fans with an update on Jerry Lawler. Through a couple of tweets, he updated fans on the WWE Hall of Famer’s condition.

Just talked to Kevin…he said that he talked to the Dr. who said that Jerry is improving. He suffered some paralysis on his left side that he is now regaining use of. The Dr. said that Jerry should recover from this episode. Good luck Jerry.

This is not Jerry Lawler’s first stroke, because he also suffered one in March 2018. He also famously had a massive heart attack while he did WWE RAW commentary in September 2012. He was thankfully able to make a full recovery from both of those episodes.

While speaking to Commercial Appeal, Jerry Lawler’s friend and WMC-TV chief meteorologist Dave Brown previously provided an update on his condition.

“Some of the initial reports were just horrible, so I feel much better than I did 18 hours ago when I felt like I got hit in the face with a shovel.

“I was incredibly encouraged after I did a FaceTime. Jerry was alert. He talked to me. He could only say a couple words at a time, which is pretty normal. But (he) was able to move both legs and both arms.”

Dave Meltzer previously reported that Jerry Lawler suffered a blood blockage to the right side of his brain, and not a stroke. The report also said Lawler was found face-down outside his Florida home on Monday. This is when he was immediately rushed to the hospital.

We will continue to monitor this ongoing situation while sending our best to Jerry Lawler. Hopefully, he is able to recover from this terrible health episode. In the meantime, keep checking back with Ringside News for more.
