WWE NXT has been the sight of developing young and talented athletes into the mega stars of the future. The developmental territory has seen the likes of Seth Rollins, Charlotte Flair, Becky, and many others mold into top-tier talent on the main roster. One potential name with a bright future ahead of her is Roxanne Perez, who came off a big victory recently and slightly injured herself in the process.

Roxanne Perez successfully defended her NXT Women’s Championship against Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne at NXT’s recent premium event, Vengeance Day. Perez revealed on her Instagram story that she suffered a finger injury during the match, which was wrapped around a bandage.

“Sliced my finger open in last night’s match give me a hell ya.”

Roxanne Perez began training at age 13 and joined Booker T’s wrestling school for further development three years later. She began her professional career in 2018 and made a name for herself on the independent circuit for the next four years.

In March 2022, Roxanne Perez was signed to WWE NXT. She made her debut on the April 15 episode of NXT Level Up where Perez managed to pick up the win against Sloane Jacobs.

Within four months of her debut, Roxanne Perez captured championship gold in NXT. Pereze alongside her partner Cora Jade managed to defeat Toxic Attraction at the Great American Bash event to win the NXT Women’s tag team championships.

Roxanne Perez further made history by ending Mandy Rose’s historic 413-day reign as champion. The 21-year-old star defeated Rose on the December 13th, episode of NXT to win her first NXT Women’s championship. With her first title defense under her belt, fans can surely hope for a lengthy reign by the faster-rising star of the NXT women’s division.
