Maria Kaneillis was released from WWE during budget cuts at the beginning of the pandemic. She didn’t stay at home after that at all, as Maria Kanellis worked all around the indies, and she’s currently with AEW as part of the ROH roster. Now, it seems that she is going to need a bit of time off the road.

Mike Kanellis updated fans via Twitter today to let them know that his wife had thyroid surgery today. Along with a photo of Maria Kanellis, he also explained that they had a lot of other things going on in their lives at the same time.

Mama has thyroid surgery. Carver turns 3 today. Freddie is doing a Pom Dance at the High School Basketball game tonight. We will tackle today like we tackle everything…as a family.

Maria Kanellis’ surgery certainly had interesting timing, because it was also her kid’s birthday. It seems like they were able to celebrate regardless, and Maria Kanellis was all smiles in the process.

Maria Kanellis first appeared in WWE in 2004 and quickly gained popularity for her beauty and charisma. Over the years, she has held several championships and has been a part of various storylines and feuds.

Maria Kanellis left WWE in 2010, but returned in 2017, this time as a heel, alongside her husband, Mike Kanellis. It is unclear whether another run with WWE is in her future, but she seems happy in AEW. Now, she has recovery to deal with.

We’re hoping for Maria Kanellis’ speedy recovery after this procedure. It seems that she has quite a support system at home. Keep checking back with Ringside News for more information on the entire pro wrestling landscape.
