Charlotte Flair is arguably the greatest female wrestler of the current generation. With 14 women’s world championships to her name, Flair is in a league of her own. In fact, The Queen is just three title victories away from tying her father Ric Flair’s record-16 world title reigns.

After a seven-month hiatus, Charlotte Flair returned to WWE as a babyface on the December 30th episode of SmackDown. Flair challenged Ronda Rousey to an impromptu match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Flair defeated Rousey in under a minute to win the prestigious title for a record-setting seventh time.

The victory made Charlotte Flair a 14-time women’s world champion and marked her 17th title in the business. The Queen is the fifth Women’s Triple Crown Champion and the fourth WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion.

During a recent Q&A on his To Be The Man podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair expressed his desire to see his daughter Charlotte Flair surpass his 16 World Title reigns and become ‘as big as Serena Williams.

“Charlotte, without even thinking. I think it would make a statement heard around the world. She would overnight be as big as Serena Williams. Absolutely. She would be recognized in that light. They’re finally getting to the point where the women athletes are getting recognition.

Women are getting more recognition, period, in business and in the business world, which is only fair. If Charlotte were to break our record, I mean, why not? I can tell you right now, we’re not talking about a 2.5 (the rating), we’re talking about a 3.5 with me and Cena walking out there the day she breaks the record. It’s very conceivable she could.”

Charlotte Flair didn’t know that she would be winning her seventh SmackDown Women’s Title until she got to the show.

Charlotte Flair will defend the SmackDown Women’s Title against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles Ripley earned her title shot by winning the 30-woman annual over-the-top-rope extravaganza this past weekend.
