WWE’s 2023 Royal Rumble event still has fans buzzing as they started the road to WrestleMania 39. Rhea Ripley entered the Women’s Royal Rumble match 1st, and she lasted until the end to point at the WrestleMania sign hanging from the Alamodome. It turns out that WWE had plans in place just in case all 30 women couldn’t make the match.

WWE gathers talent ahead of time to map out their Royal Rumble matches. They also take everything in consideration, because anything can change to cause them to need a new person for the match.

According to a note from PW Insider, WWE had an NXT Superstar and a main roster talent on deck, just in case they needed them for the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Ivy Nile and Maxine Dupri were at the Royal Rumble on Saturday as alternates in case they were needed.

Obviously, WWE didn’t need to call on their alternatives, because their original plan went through without any issues. It is still interesting to note exactly who WWE had on standby just in case they needed them.

Ivy Nile has a lot of road ahead of her in NXT, and she could use plenty of television time as well. On the other hand, Maxxine Dupri is also doing her thing with Maximum Male Models, so they both have things going for them. At least they were a part of the Royal Rumble excitement, even if they didn’t get to compete.
