The wrestling world experienced a huge loss as Jay Briscoe passed away at the age of 38. His untimely passing led to an outpouring of support and prayers on social media. Fans were irate when WarnerBros Discovery didn’t allow Mark Briscoe to compete on AEW television, but that was quickly rectified. Now it seems AEW talent are simply overjoyed about Briscoe being allowed to wrestle on Dynamite this week.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer recently reported WarnerBros Discovery would not even allow Mark Briscoe on AEW television, even after his brother Jay Briscoe passed away. WarnerMedia changed their minds after a lot of coaxing from Tony Khan.

Of course, AEW would then announce that Mark Briscoe is set to appear in match on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. This led to Eric Bischoff calling out Meltzer for his incorrect report.

That being said, according to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, it was reported that AEW talent are simply overjoyed about Briscoe being allowed to wrestle on Dynamite this week.

It goes without saying, but the talent we spoke with were overjoyed about Mark Briscoe being allowed on the show this week.

It was also noted that AEW brought in few extra names after Mark Briscoe’s match was announced. We have to wonder how big of a tribute they will have for Jay Briscoe, but it will certainly be an emotional tribute.

We will have to wait and see how Mark Briscoe will fare in his AEW debut match this week. After all, he will be facing his close friend Jay Lethal. It is likely there will not be a single dry eye in the audience during the show.
