LA Knight became the first victim of Bray Wyatt’s physical assault in 2022. The storyline involving Knight and Wyatt has seen some interesting developments over the past few weeks. Last night’s episode of SmackDown on FOX revealed the identity of LA Knight’s opponent.

The former Million Dollar Champion defeated Ren Jones quickly as he prepares to face Bray Wyatt at the Royal Rumble in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black matchup. Jones previously wrestled for WWE in 2017 on an episode of 205 Live against Brian Kendrick, according to the Local Competitor Twitter account.
On the new @WWE SmackDown: LA Knight @RealLAKnight defeated Ren Jones.
This was Ren’s 2nd WWE match. He last competed on the 1/24/17 205 Live as Tripp Bradshaw, taking on Brian Kendrick. #WWE#SmackDown#WWESmackDown
Ren Jones also appeared as a security guard on SmackDown in 2022. During the Liv Morgan & Tegan Nox vs. Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai match, Ren & Connor Braxton escorted the hooded stagehand, Xia Li, away.
In addition to his work in WWE, he has appeared on AEW Dark and regularly wrestles for AAW, CLASH Wrestling, and other indie promotions. In other news, the tension between Knight and Wyatt reached its boiling point.
LA Knight proposed a match to settle their differences. Wyatt accepted the challenge but promised he won’t go easy on Knight in a ‘Pitch Black Match’ at the Royal Rumble premium live event. Only time will tell what happens in that match. You can check out the tweets below.
