Kofi Kingston Credits Ex-WWE Superstar For Classic Royal Rumble Elimination Spots

Kofi Kingston is undoubtedly a true veteran in the pro wrestling world, having worked in WWE for over decade. He has competed in several memorable matches and won various championships. Every year during the Royal Rumble, fans wait in anticipation for one of Kingston’s crazy elimination spots. It seems John Morrison was responsible for inspiring Kingston to do his own spots.

The New Day member has already accomplished a lot of history-making feats in his career so far. With the Road to WrestleMania officially set to get underway with The Royal Rumble this year, fans are already excited about what Kofi Kingston will do.

Kofi Kingston is always the highlight of a Royal Rumble match due to his creative ways of avoiding elimination. Fans simply wait every year to see what imaginative way Kingston will avoid getting elimination in the Royal Rumble match.

While speaking After The Bell with Corey Graves, Kofi Kingston talked about his Royal Rumble elimination spots. He gave credit to John Morrison for being the first to creatively avoid getting eliminated, thereby inspiring him to do so as well.

“I always got to give credit to John Morrison because he was one who did it first when he got knocked off the apron and Spider Man’d down to the barricade and jumped in. Then everyone’s like, ‘Well, that was crazy. That was awesome.’ The next year, he wasn’t with the company anymore. So I was like, ‘Oh, let me go ahead.’ Every year, it’s been just an honor to do something that the people look forward to because I think that at the crux of our industry and being successful in our industry, you really are just trying to find a way to stand out.”

Kofi Kingston was eliminated afterward thanks to a botched jump to the outside during last year’s Royal Rumble match. We will have to wait and see what Kingston has in mind for this year’s Rumble.
