Xavier Woods, talented wrestler and member of The New Day, has had a successful career in WWE marked by multiple tag team championships and a consistent presence on various brands. Despite his accomplishments, Woods is not immune to the risks of injury as a human being. He has been on the shelf due to injury, and now it seems Kofi Kingston has confirmed this.

Xavier Woods is an accomplished wrestler and member of the iconic group The New Day. He is typically known for his success as a tag team specialist, having won multiple tag team championships throughout his career. That didn’t stop him from achieving his dreams in singles competition, as he became King of the Ring.

Despite his accolades, Xavier Woods has been sidelined from wrestling since his last match, a six-man victory with Kofi Kingston and Madcap Moss against Imperium at the December 27th WWE Supershow in Atlanta.

WWE ran an angle during the event where Xavier Woods was shown attacked backstage before Kofi Kingston, Madcap Moss and Emma defeated Legado del Fantasma’s Cruz Del Toro, Joaquin Wilde and Zelina Vega. That explained his injury in the storyline.

As previously reported, Xavier Woods is currently banged up and not cleared for in-ring competition. While speaking to Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Kofi Kingston confirmed Woods is banged up.

Kofi Kingston noted that Xavier Woods is “getting better and better every week,” and they are using this time to get him back to being 100 percent.

“We are able to progress our storyline and let him rest and recover. He’ll be good in no time. He’s made a lot of progress already.”

As seen on this week’s episode of NXT, it was confirmed that The New Day will defend their NXT Tag Team Championships against Pretty Deadly and Gallus at NXT Vengeance Day on February 4th. That segment actually had to change in the last minute due to Jay Briscoe’s tragic passing. We’ll have to see how they will fare in the match.
