Matt Hardy is a true veteran in the pro wrestling business, having constantly reinvented himself over the years. Due to his extensive knowledge of the pro wrestling world, his opinion is taken seriously all the time. He is a master of reinvention and is never afraid of thinking outside the box. It seems Hardy has finally brought back his ‘Broken’ gimmick.

Matt Hardy made his shocking debut in AEW back in March 2020 and immediately started a feud with Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle. The feud would feature a segment where Hardy teleported to various places in the arena. Unfortunately, his Broken gimmick simply never took off in the company.

In recent months, Matt Hardy has been involved in a storyline with Ethan Page. At first, tensions between the two escalated as Page punished Hardy and his tag team partners, Private Party after The Firm acquired their contract.

However, over the past several weeks, Hardy and Page have started to form an unlikely friendship, with Ethan even dancing along to Matt’s theme song during their entrances. Despite this newfound friendship, Matt has been teasing the return of his “Broken” persona, both on his podcast and in brief segments on AEW programming, hinting at a potential turn in the storyline.

On the newest episode of Being The Elite, Hardy and Ethan Page seemed to be vibing hard. During a meeting with Brandon Cutler, Ethan Page asked Matt Hardy whether their alliance has had a positive impact on his business. Matt responded by saying that it has, and he also emphasized that he’s having a great time working with Page.

After the meeting was over, Ethan Page was ecstatic and said that they were vibing well together. However, Hardy then suddenly made his way to the bathroom. As ominous music started playing, Matt looked in the mirror, and began hitting himself before yelling, seemingly transforming into the “Broken” version of himself.

This is certainly an interesting turn of events, as this will mark the first time ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy will be seen in front of a live crowd in AEW. We’ll have to see how his gimmick will fare this time around.
