CM Punk’s future in professional wrestling remains up in the air amidst reports of a potential contract buyout. Punk is still suspended following the infamous backstage altercation with The Elite at AEW All Out. While CM Punk might be a controversial figure in AEW, he was able to teach Jade Cargill a valuable lesson in the ring.

In a recent interview with Bootleg Kev, reigning AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill recalled CM Punk helping her improve her in-ring skills while she was still learning the basics. For instance, the former AEW World Champion had taught her how to swing a chair.

“No one gave me instructions other than [Punk] to show me how to use a chair and I had to perform this on live TV,”

Jade Cargill admires CM Punk’s straightforward, unfiltered persona. The Second City Saint is notorious for his outspoken nature, be it on-camera or behind the scenes. As such, Punk taught Cargill to be more confident in standing up for what she believes in, especially as a newbie in the wrestling industry.

“I’ve lived real life and just because I didn’t want to do this all of my life, or because I didn’t put in the time, I refuse to let anybody look at me less than… I refuse for anybody to treat me anything different because outside of these lines I’m a human freaking being and you’re not going to treat me like anything else.”

Jade Cargill noted that she doesn’t have any clue of what went down during CM Punk’s backstage altercation with The Elite at AEW All Out. The longest reigning champion in AEW history lauded Punk as a “great guy” who has always been nice and kind to the women’s locker room.

CM Punk was stripped of the AEW World Championship following the backstage fight. AEW President Tony Khan didn’t spare The Elite as Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were stripped of the AEW World Trios Titles as well. Punk, Ace Steel, The Elite, and some other names involved in the fight were all suspended following the pay-per-view. Ace Steel was later released from the company.
