The Young Bucks are truly incomparable when it comes to the business side of the industry. They are also not everyone’s cup of tea for a multitude of reasons, and fans have accepted that. Matt and Nick Jackson are two of the biggest stars in AEW as well as being EVPs, as they started the company together with Tony Khan back in 2019. Recent reports suggested that The Young Bucks are in talks about re-signing with AEW, but it seems they are still not close to signing new contracts.

As reported by Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, The Young Bucks are in discussions with the company in order to sign new contracts and stick with AEW for a longer time.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation concerning The Young Bucks. Meltzer noted that Matt and Nick Jackson are not close to re-signing with AEW.

“Their contract is up at the end of the year, and AEW does want to lock them in. AEW contacted them and wants to start the negotiations. But there have been no negotiations as of today. And they’re certainly not close to a deal. Right now that’s where it’s at.

It’s similar to when we talked about a couple of months ago with Jericho – Jericho had time left, but they signed him to a new deal.

They have not started negotiations yet, but AEW has contacted them saying that they want to sign them to a new deal, a multi-year deal, so that’s where the Young Bucks story’s at right now.”

The AEW roster is already filled to the brim with talented professional wrestlers, and The Young Bucks remaining a part of the roster is something that the company is determined to do. We’ll have to wait and see whether The Young Bucks will end up signing new contracts with AEW in the future.
