Shinsuke Nakamura made name for himself in NJPW, where he ruled the roost as the King Of Strong Style. He has a deep love for Japanese wrestling in general, and so it was not really any surprise that Nakamura was very excited about his upcoming match against The Great Muta. The match finally took place at NOAH The New Year, and it turned out to be a solid one.

Shinsuke Nakamura faced off against The Great Muta at the NOAH The New Year show on January 1st, 2023. Naturally, it was a highly anticipated matchup, as something like this was not seen in a very long time, especially after WWE allowed Nakamura to take part in the match.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated The Great Muta at the event at Budokan Hall. Nakamura kicked out of Muta’s shining wizard and then proceeded to use a mist of his own on Muta. Nakamura then followed it up with a kinsasha for the win.

After the match, Nakamura thanked Muta, calling him his idol. Nakamura celebrated in the ring for a short while before helping Muta walk to the stage. The two then posed on the stage as pyro went off, ending the show.
