Bret Hart is a WWE Hall of Famer, and his in-ring skills earned him all the fame and recognition a pro wrestler would ever want. He is hailed as an all-time great and is always mentioned in anyone’s top 10 list. He is also more than familiar with Ric Flair, both inside and outside the squared circle. His matches with Ric Flair were also critically lauded. It seems Tony Schiavone believes Bret Hart was never as great as Ric Flair.

The Montreal Screwjob remains one of the most controversial incidents in pro wrestling history, as it is still talked about to this very day. It truly changed Bret Hart’s career, as he eventually went to WCW and suffered a premature retirement.

Bret Hart has battled many foes in his career, and that includes Ric Flair. While speaking on the latest edition of his podcast, Tony Schiavone made it clear that he believes Bret Hart was never as great as Ric Flair.

Bret Hart was one, is one of the great professional wrestlers of all time but to me, I like the Hart Foundation better than I like Bret as a singles wrestler. I guess it is because that my first dealings with Bret Hart was Bret and Jim Neidhart in WWE and 1989. Maybe that’s the reason, that’s what I remember. I just thought that was a great tag team and I missed Bret Hart becoming a great singles wrestler because I was here working in Nitro. And I didn’t watch any of that stuff. I know he was great. But he just wasn’t to me as great as a Ric Flair.”

Bret Hart also claimed that punching Vince McMahon was the greatest thing he ever did. Hart also regrets leaving WWE to go to WCW. Hart is currently engaged in other projects and that’s all he cares about right now.
