WWE NXT underwent a huge reboot last year, as it started focusing more on the younger talent. Following Triple H’s WWE takeover, things have changed in a few ways, especially going back to its black and gold roots. WWE has taped more episodes of NXT in advance, and we advise you not to read further if you don’t want spoilers.

With Christmas and the New Year taking place very soon, the company has taped the final two episodes of NXT for this year. The tapings took place at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

The tapings set up new rivalries and further progressed quite a few ongoing storylines in addition to that. Do not read below if you do not want to get spoiled. That being said, feel free to check the spoilers for the December 20th episode below.

In the opening match, Carmelo Hayes beats Axiom thanks to outside assistance from Trick Williams. After the match, Axiom hits an Asai moonsault, furthering recent issues between Axiom and Williams. On the 12/13 episode, Hayes and Williams blamed Axiom for Hayes’ loss in the inaugural Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline, with Hayes vowing to “delete Axiom’s ass” ahead of their singles match.

Zoey Stark beats Nikkita Lyons with Stark using the ropes for leverage. The rivalry dates back to Stark turning on Lyons back on the November 8 episode of NXT.

Apollo Crews calls out Carmelo Hayes in the ring, followed by a back-and-forth promo between the two superstars. This was Crews’ first appearance since his loss to “WWE NXT” Champion Bron Breakker at Deadline.

Elektra Lopez beats Indi Hartwell.

Alba Fyre beats Sol Ruca via DQ as Isla Dawn attacked Fyre, smashing her longtime rival’s hand on the ring steps with a baseball bat. Dawn had defeated Fyre at Deadline.

The New Day beats Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen to retain their “WWE NXT” Tag Team Championship. The match ended with Woods hitting a top rope elbow for the pinfall victory.

The show ends with Grayson Waller, the winner of the inaugural Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge, calling out Breakker. The “NXT” Champion charged from the parking lot to the ring, spearing Waller. However, the brash Aussie had a steel plate hidden under his jacket.

NXT will continue to provide something that every fan will like, as Shawn Michaels and crew are focused on training the new talent to become the future of the company. We will have to wait and see how NXT will fare in 2023. You may also check out the spoilers for the December 27th episode here.
