John Cena made the transition from WWE Superstar to Hollywood actor with great success by appearing in many films, including the Fast & Furious franchise, the DC Universe franchise as Peacemaker, and various comedies such as Trainwreck, Blockers, and the Daddy’s Home movies. Now, he’s teaming up with one of the hottest action stars in a comedy.

According to Variety, Cena is now set to star with Jason Momoa in the upcoming action comedy “Killer Vacation”. Warner Bros is producing the project.

Cena and Momoa met on the set of the upcoming conclusion to the main Fast & Furious series, “Fast X”. According to Variety sources, the two had great instant chemistry and they were looking for another project for them to work on together.

The film is being compared to old-school blockbusters like “True Lies”. The script for “Killer Vacation” was written by Mark and Brian Gunn and it’s being produced by John Rickard and Peter Safran. The film was set up at WB before Safran became co-CEO at DC Studios’ film unit.

Cena’s next film will be “Freelance,” an upcoming American action-comedy film being directed by “Taken’s” Pierre Morel.  He will also star in the sequel to the Hulu pandemic-era hit original comedy “Vacation Friends” called “Honeymoon Friends”.

In addition to all of those Hollywood projects, Cena will return to WWE on the December 30th edition of SmackDown in Tampa, Flordia. It’s possible that will kick off Cena’s Road to Wrestlemania with that episode. Should be a great way to end 2022.
