John Cena is 16-time World Champion and helped WWE grow in many ways. Whenever Cena makes his return to WWE television nowadays, it is always treated as a momentous occasion. It seems he will be returning to the company very soon as well.

The Leader of Cenation was last seen during the June 27 episode of WWE Raw and celebrated his 20th anniversary with the company. During that episode, he cut a heartfelt promo to the audience in attendance. He then had a brief confrontation with Austin Theory.

According to Joe Otterson of Variety, John Cena is slated to appear on the December 30th episode of SmackDown, which will emanate from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. For the time being, it is not known what Cena will be doing during that episode.

WWE later confirmed Variety’s report by sending out a tweet via their Public Relations account.

As exclusively reported by @Variety, @JohnCena will appear on final #SmackDown of 2022.

John Cena is also booked for movie shoot prior to WrestleMania 39. Ringside News exclusively reported that there are talks between the two sides. Vince McMahon also gave his blessing for Cena to appear for WWE as often as he can.

We will have to wait and see what WWE will have planned for Cena once he returns at the very end of this month.
