The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns is operating on an entirely different level. He is billed as the greatest WWE superstar of the modern era. His position at the top has earned him significant creative control over his booking and character. Roman Reigns reportedly has used that creative freedom to handpick Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for working on a long-term basis.
Sami Zayn became one of the hottest acts on Friday Night SmackDown. Zayn’s work as the Honorary Uce of the Bloodline made him a cornerstone on the blue brand, winning over the WWE Universe. Kevin Owens’s addition to the mix comes in naturally with his long-time friendship with Sami Zayn and heated rivalry with Roman Reigns over the years.
WWE Survivor Series this past weekend saw a spot in the Men’s War Games where Kevin Owens landed a stiff slap onto Roman Reigns, causing him to suffer a reported eardrum injury. This led to a bit of friction between the two rivals backstage. However, it seems like the issues have been resolved moving forward.
Kevin Owens’ natural heat with Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn’s incredible character work has made the Head of the Table pull some strings of his own. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns used some of his creative pull to work with the Prize Fighter and the former Conspiracy Theorist on his long-term Bloodline storyline.
Kevin Owens is looking to be next in line to challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal championship at WWE’s next premium live event, WWE Royal Rumble being the first pay-per-view of the new year. Sami Zayn on the other hand looks to stay tight to the Bloodline after proving his loyalty to the faction at WWE Survivor Series.
