Tony Khan stripped Thunder Rosa of the AEW Women’s World Championship during Dynamite tonight. The important announcement was shared by Renee Paquette on the show.

Thunder Rosa took to Twitter to react to the announcement. La Mera Mera is definitely heartbroken to have relinquished the title she worked so hard to win in the first place.

Thank you #ThunderArmy for all the support and @aew for being there for me. Dream-like moments happened in this run, and this is not how I wanted to lose the championship, but you deserve a present champion; on to the next chapter.

Thunder Rosa is going through physical therapy, as well as non-surgical treatments, to recover from her back injury. It remains to be seen when will Thunder Rosa return to AEW TV.
