WWE had a shot with Karrion Kross, but Vince McMahon’s booking of the former NXT Champion did not pan out. It turns out that they nixed some plans along the way.

Sean Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that Scarlett and Karrion Kross were set for some interesting plans in 2019. Scarlett was actually set to manage Damain Priest, but Priest didn’t think that she was a good fit for that spot. This was actually when they were still in developmental.

Scarlett is now with real life husband Karrion Kross on screen after both were brought back following their WWE releases. However, when NXT jumped to cable in 2019, there were some other pitches for her. Sources have indicated to Fightful that originally Scarlett was set to manage Damian Priest, as far back as September 2019. However, Priest didn’t think the fit was good for him and passed on the spot. There were some within NXT that actually thought the act was going to make TV up until the week it was nixed, which we’re told was within the first few weeks of the brand airing on the USA Network.

After Priest passed on the idea, Scarlett’s character was put on the back burner until it became clear that Karrion Kross was coming into the company. Those that we spoke to said in retrospect it worked out better for all involved.

We’ll have to see what’s next for Karrion Kross and Scarlett. They are paired up with each other on television now, and eyeing a big match against Drew McIntyre at WWE Crown Jewel. Only time will tell how everything turns out for them this time around.

What’s your take on these nixed plans? Sound off in the comments!
