Sammy Guevara has remained one of the staples of AEW television since his debut back in 2019. In fact, he competed in AEW Dynamite’s first-ever match where he was defeated by Cody Rhodes. While he is a popular star, he was still blasted for trying to outshine the babyfaces in the company.

The Spanish God worked alongside Chris Jericho as part of the Inner Circle in the beginning. While he was a babyface for a while, Guevara turned heel and came back to work with Jericho.

While speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette talked about Guevara’s heel run so far and blasted him for trying to outshine babyfaces in e company.

“He’s [Sammy Guevara] not working like a heel. He’s still doing the big spring board into the jumping cutter off the top rope or the back moon salt into the asahara, fu*k*ng water slide or whatever the f*ck they call everything and and that doesn’t get any heat on him, his face and his girl do that. But then he wants to outshine the baby face and still impress people that he’s crazy and he’ll risk his neck so they’ll cheer what he does even though they’re supposed to hate him.”
