Jon Moxley used to work in WWE from 2012 to 2019, where he was known as Dean Ambrose. Ambrose had a terrific career in WWE where he won several titles. In the end, he left the company after frustrations with his booking. He also made Mick Foley have goosebumps during a promo session.

At WrestleMania 32, Jon Moxley squared off against Brock Lesnar in a No Holds Barred match, but was not able to defeat The Beast Incarnate. He had a backstage segment with Mick Foley on RAW before the match, where he was given Foley’s iconic baseball bat wrapped in barbwire.

While speaking on the Foley Is Pod podcast, Foley explained how his son thought he would dislike the promo’s script. Foley then ran through the script and gave the writer his feedback on the avoidance of cheap pops and managed to get it changed. He also had goosebumps while rehearsing the promo with Moxley.

“So, I have this line I want to pass by Moxley and he’s kind of this weird dude who’s kind of kayfabe-ing everybody and I’ve got this past little relationship with him based on the indie thing. I said ‘Hey, Jon, there’s this thing I wanted to run by you and he’s like, ‘okay, let me hear it’.

I run by the promo and I said, I want to say when I try to urge you not to take this match, he’s gonna say why’d you go up on top of that call in Pittsburgh and I go I’m Mick Foley. That’s what I do. And he goes well, I’m Dean Ambrose, and this is what I do.

Jon Moxley had a great run in WWE but he is more than happy being one of the main stars in AEW. Regardless, he will always be grateful for his time in the company.
