Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels was recently promoted to the role of Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative. That happened when Vince McMahon, the company’s owner, decided to step down as CEO. Shawn was recently acknowledged by Booker T for doing a good job in his role.

For those who are unaware, the Heartbreak Kid played an important role in the development of NXT talent throughout the years. However, with his best friend Triple H now in charge of WWE creative, he now has a much bigger role to play. Former World Heavyweight Champion Booker T revealed how Shawn oversees the commentary on NXT during the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast.

The NXT commentator praised Michael as a motivator and commended his idea of constructive criticism. “Shawn, he’s not like, ‘Hey guys, I need you to do this, I need you to do that,'” he said.

No, it’s not like that at all. But he has given input for me. I’m just now getting back. I’m just starting again, I’m just now getting my feet wet. So encouragement I think, is what Shawn has done for me more than anything. You know [such as], ‘Book man, you was good tonight but maybe let’s see if we can work on this next week.’ You know what I mean? Which for me is just constructive criticism.

The WWE Hall of Famer is currently signed to WWE as a member of the NXT commentary team. In the same interview, the 57-year-old explained that he needed to know the names of some of the wrestlers correctly. “I know I need to know everybody’s names and I gotta make sure that — like say, for instance, I said Shotzi Blackheart,” he said.

Which was a mistake, because she’s just Shotzi. So it’s little bitty things like that I need to be conscious of. And the only way I can be conscious of it is, I do my due diligence, study, and make sure to try not to make those same mistakes.

Booker T has been a well-known wrestler and authority figure in WWE. In 2013, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Ringside News.
