Matt Hardy is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world, having worked in various promotions in his career. He is currently under his Big Money Matt persona in AEW and remains a highlight.

Matt Hardy made his shocking debut in AEW back in March 2020 and immediately started a feud with Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle. The feud would feature a segment where Hardy teleported to various places in the arena. Unfortunately, his Broken gimmick simply never took off in the company.

On the latest episode of “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy”, Matt Hardy suggested that there’s a chance fans will see the return of his Broken Matt persona due to the ongoing storyline between Stokely Hathaway and The Firm gaining ownership of Private Party.

“I think there’s a chance it’s not out of the realm of possibility. It could definitely happen, we’ll see. It’s going to be really interesting to see how this scenario, with myself in The Firm, ends up playing out. Let it play out. Who knows this might lead to me being broken.

I mean, you always gotta evolve. You always gotta freshen up. I mean, you just can’t give — you can’t do reruns. Much like how professional wrestling is 52 weeks a year, new, first-content. We don’t do reruns in wrestling, you always have to move the story forward. You always have to evolve and the same thing goes when you revisit a different character.”

Matt Hardy is certainly happy working in AEW and that is unlikely to change anytime soon. We will have to wait and see whether his Broken persona will end up returning or not.
