Tony Khan ushered in a new age for Ring Of Honor when he bought the legendary promotion. While fans initially thought that he had strong plans for the company, the reality is far from it.

Bryan Alvarez reports on Wrestling Observer Live that the AEW president simply seized the opportunity to buy ROH when it came. Instead of having any real plans for the promotion, he responded to the market forces.

WWE and AEW are known as two fierce competitors. According to Alvarez, WWE was in the race to acquire ROH, and so were others who would have different plans for the company. However, Khan didn’t want the opportunity to slip by, and he seized it.

Tony Khan didn’t have plans for Ring Of Honor. WWE wanted it, and I’m sure that other people wanted it. He didn’t have time to draw up business plans. So, the opportunity arose, and he bought it.

Tony Khan had no business plans before buying ROH. However, it seems he’s been working hard to cement a proper plan for the company before starting a ROH television show.

Chris Jericho is currently the ROH World Champion. He won the title at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam. It’s clear that the AEW president would have to plan things so that both AEW and ROH stars could find a convenient plan to compete. It’s something that needs time, and Tony Khan is making sure he doesn’t rush anything.
