Vince McMahon made a ton of headlines back in June after it was discovered that he secretly paid $3 million as settlement to a departing paralegal. McMahon was under investigation right after this, and he had to retire. Bret Hart also feels sad about his retirement.

It was later revealed that McMahon also paid $12 million in hush money to quite a few women over the last twenty years. Evidently, this was the straw that broke the camel’s back and enraged many people.

In fact, an additional $5 million dollars of unrecorded expenses were linked to Vince McMahon. While speaking to Bill Apter, WWE Hall Of Famer Bret Hart admitted that he felt somewhat sad about McMahon’s retirement.

“Like everybody else, I’m mostly just kinda surprised. I don’t think anybody’s ever made as big a footprint as Vince McMahon. I feel kinda sad about it, actually. I know people probably think I would be gloating or happy to see him go through what he’s going, but I don’t. I feel bad that it happened, or whatever’s happened. I think his loss or his absence from the business will be sorely missed.”

As fans are aware, Bret Hart loathed Vince McMahon for many years due to the Montreal Screwjob but eventually mended fences in the early 2010s. With McMahon gone, Triple H has taken charge of WWE Creative and changes are already aplenty. We’ll have to see what the company has planned next for fans.
