While it looked like the XFL would be making a comeback under former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, the pandemic and other legal and financial factors halted it. The football league declared bankruptcy after stopping halfway through the season in 2020, only to be purchased by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and RedBird Capital Partners. Now, it appears one WWE employee will still be involved with the project going forward.

NXT star Xyon Quinn shared earlier this week on Instagram that WWE Strength and Conditioning Coach Sean Hayes will be working with the XFL in the future. Quinn congratulated Hayes for snatching the new gig and wished him the best of luck.

The OG of @wwenxt 👑 Best wishes on your next adventure with @xfl brother, they’ve gained a beast of a trainer and an absolute legend of a bloke.

Prior to working with the talent on NXT, Hayes served on the Houston Texans’ coaching staff. He is also a former Crimson linebacker. Now that Hayes is heading back to football, it’ll be interesting to see who may take over his NXT role.
