CM Punk has been a strong supporter of Sasha Banks and Naomi lately since they walked out of WWE Raw taping on May 20th. Punk infamously walked out of WWE in January 2014 the day after the Royal Rumble. So, he can relate to their objection with WWE’s bad booking under Vince McMahon’s leadership.

Punk listed multiple reasons for the walkout, but his health was the biggest reason since he worked through multiple injuries without time off. Although Banks & Naomi walked out reportedly over creative differences with former CEO Vince McMahon.

Punk spoke with The Hashtag Show at San Diego Comic recently about the situation regarding Banks and Naomi. Once again he is showing his support for the two women.

My thing is, I can’t listen to people criticize me if I wouldn’t ask advice from them. You can’t lead people somewhere you’ve never gone. I try to be as humble as I can be, and I don’t like talking about myself, but I was the first guy through the wall. I got fucking bloodied for it. To watch somebody else stand up and walk out, I’m always going to support that, 100 fucking percent. I’ve never met Mercedes, I don’t know her, but I definitely feel solidarity with her. I know how that place is. I know how women are treated there. I’m not a woman myself, so I can’t put myself in those shoes, but there are probably a lot of reasons why she peaced out.”

Punk previously said that he didn’t believe that WWE’s culture would change following Vince McMahon from the company completely. But we’ll see how different WWE will be in the coming months.
