Cesaro left WWE and made his long-anticipated AEW debut at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view event. Since then, he has become a mainstay of AEW television. He is also set to defend his title at AEW Battle Of The Belts III.

Now known as Claudio Castagnoli, he defeated Jonathan Gresham to become the new ROH World Champion at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view.

It was announced during Friday’s Fight for The Fallen edition of AEW Rampage that Claudio Castagnoli will be defending his ROH World Championship against Kennosuke Takeshita. This marks Claudio’s first title defense since winning the title last week.

Battle of The Belts III will be taped next Friday, August 5th from the Van Del Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The one-hour special will then air the following night, Saturday, August 6 at 8pm ET. We’ll have to see who will end up winning the match.
