Vince McMahon took WWE from his father’s control and transformed it into a sports and entertainment juggernaut. McMahon also worked closely with larger than life superstars such as Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Steve Austin, The Rock, and others. His time at the helm of WWE came to an abrupt end recently, but the story is far from over.

The 77-year-old retired from the company this past Friday, handing it over to daughter Stephanie McMahon and top executive Nick Khan. McMahon stepped away from all of his responsibilities. His son-in-law Triple H took over as the company’s creative head on Monday.

McMahon is currently under investigation for a sex scandal. In a recent filing with the SEC, it was revealed that outside agents have inquired about payments made by Vince McMahon. Mainstream media is already working on getting out more stories on the issue.

According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live, the latest McMahon story by Wall Street Journal could drop as soon as this week. Alvarez also spoke on the upcoming HBO Sports coverage of McMahon’s extramarital affairs with former WWE employees.

“I will say that there are rumors that the HBO Real Sports story on Vince is – one person used the term ‘damning’ and that there might be another Wall Street Journal article coming out this week. They may have gotten ahead of things with this resignation on Friday.”

WWE also revised several years of financial statements regarding the matter. A sum of $14.6 million has been added to statements dating back to 2019. WWE fans believe McMahon resigned because he knew more stories would come to light in the near future.
