Liv Morgan got a huge reaction when she captured the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the recent Money in the Bank premium live event. Fans have been clamoring for Liv to get title push for quite some time. After winning the Money in the Bank briefcase, she finally got her moment by cashing in and defeating Ronda Rousey for the title.

The push of Liv Morgan seemed sudden to a lot of fans. The reason for the brand switch and the title run may have several factors. One of them involves the departures of Sasha Banks and Naomi.

In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer talked about Liv Morgan’s push. With Banks and Naomi gone, SmackDown was short a couple of top-tier babyfaces. Morgan fit the bill perfectly.

“Part of the reason, if not the key reason, for the recent push of Morgan was he walking out of Banks and Naomi. When they left, the idea was that Smackdown needed a new top tier woman babyface and Morgan was the one who got the pick of the draw. It’s also worked out because the fan base was ready for her.”

WWE fans were delighted when Liv Morgan finally won gold. She is incredibly popular among fans and if SmackDown needed a babyface, they probably could not have done better. The timing was perfect to put Morgan in a position to shine.

Liv is set to defend her title against Ronda Rousey at the upcoming SummerSlam premium live event. A huge crowd of over 30,000 is expected at Nissan Stadium. It will be one of the biggest moments of Liv Morgan’s career, and she indirectly has Sasha and Naomi to thank in part for it.
