Penelope Ford has been missing in action from AEW for quite a while. Many fans have been under the impression that Tony Khan simply has not been using The Super Bad Girl for various reasons. The truth is much more simple.

Ford has only wrestled two matches for AEW so far in 2022. It’s not because Khan doesn’t appreciate her work. A fan recently asked Tony if he’s given up on her via Twitter, and the AEW boss clarified Penelope Ford’s status with AEW.

“Not at all, total opposite in fact; she’s a great wrestler, and I can’t wait until she’s medically cleared to come back. She’s been in some classic @AEW matches, and hopefully she’ll be in many more!”

Khan did not elaborate on the nature of Penelope Ford’s reason for not being medically cleared. Her last bout was on the January 15 episode of Dark when she defeated Angelica Risk. Before that, she teamed with The Bunny and Nyla Rose to defeat Kris Statlander, Leyla Hirsch, and Red Velvet at the January 12 Rampage taping that aired two days later.

Penelope Ford has a unique look and plenty of athleticism. Tony Khan seems to believe in her talent. It is just a matter of her being able to get medical clearance.

Time will tell how long it takes before Penelope is ready to return to the ring. Any rumors that Tony Khan has given up on her have now been squashed. At this point, only time stands between her and her return to in-ring action.
