The Young Bucks are truly geniuses as far as the business side of pro wrestling is concerned because they are experts in selling merchandise. They made the most out of many incidents over the years, especially when it came to WWE. There were also huge plans for them at AEW Forbidden Door.

As fans are aware by now, FTR won the IWGP World Tag Team Championships at the AEW Forbidden Door event. Thus, they are now the ROH, AAA and IWGP Tag Team Champions.

According to  Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Young Bucks were initially supposed to win the IWGP World Tag Team Championships. However, the plans changed for a future bout between the Bucks and FTR.

Gedo’s original idea was for the Young Bucks to win the IWGP tag titles on the show and make it AEW vs. IWGP tag titles. It was changed, and the Young Bucks were on board with that change with the idea that it’s a cool story for FTR to have the IWGP, ROH and AAA tag titles. While belts mean less because there are so many of them, there is now a natural push for Young Bucks vs. FTR with four sets of belts at stake and being pushed as a unique match in wrestling history, and could logically be billed as the biggest tag team championship match in history, for that reason.

We will have to wait and see when AEW will decide to have the massive title clash between The Young Bucks and FTR. The two have faced each other twice and both the matches were instant classics, so fans can’t wait for their third encounter.
