Austin Theory remains one of the young and rising talent in all of WWE. He made the most of the platform given to him by Johnny Gargano’s stable, The Way as well. Theory was also given huge props for looking like he belongs with John Cena.
Theory’s had a memorable year so far, as he had a WrestleMania 38 moment with Steve Austin. The young talent would then become the new United States Champion. His tutelage under Vince McMahon has only improved him so far.
On this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Theory confronted Cena during Cena’s promo on the show. He even mocked Cena and said fans should celebrate him instead of Mr. Hustle Loyalty Respect.
While speaking on Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru podcast, Jim Cornette gave huge props to Austin Theory for the backstage segment, as he looked like he belonged with John Cena.
“I liked this [the segment] because it gave you look what a guy like Theory looks like in the environment of being nose-to-nose with a main event guy that really over, not like one that’s on the roster these days. They gave Theory all the words, all the verbiage, and he gave it to Cena, and made fun of his fu***ng pants, told him, ‘I’m the big deal around here now.’ He was good, they were nose-to-nose, he’s two inches taller than John, got same size arms, and he’s 20 years younger, and he looks like he belongs.”
Austin Theory is set to defend his United States Championship against Bobby Lashley at WWE Money In The Bank this month. We’ll have to see who will win the match in the end.
