AEW continues to grow as a pro wrestling company and has been successful in that regard over the last three years. The company also decided to dive deep into the video game industry as the company previously announced a video game for consoles is in the works.

Kenny Omega has been working hard along with video game developer Yuke’s. This is to ensure the upcoming AEW game for consoles will be in the best state possible when it releases.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated ahead of Forbidden Door. Kenny Omega revealed that Cody Rhodes will be in the upcoming AEW: Fight Forever video game. This is despite the fact he left AEW and is in WWE now.

“This may come as a surprise to people, but Cody is still in the game. I was very passionate about making sure his legacy and position within the company were preserved. We’ve built this game from the ground up, starting everything from scratch. That’s why I thought this game could coincide with the birth of this company. You get to experience AEW from the beginning, from day one. The game is going to reflect a lot of that, even though our locker room is ever-changing.”

It is to be noted that Cody Rhodes was not included for WWE 2K22 for a variety of reasons. It is likely he will be part of WWE 2K22 and, perhaps, even be the cover star. We’ll have to see when the game will release now, as Omega stated they are trying for a 2022 release window.
